That does not mean a policy designed to protect the smaller of the 13 states, made before telephones, radio, TV, Internet still makes sense in 2023.
There is nothing about modern society that changes the basic concepts of federalism.

Even Congress is divided up into two halves. The "upper" half gives equal representation to every state.

If you really think that's "unfair," then by all means abolish the Senate and move to a popular vote for electing the president.

There are positives and negatives to letting such a gigantic mob of voters elect the president.
