Wharfie,
Who do you think is digging up fossil carbon, and liberating it into the atmosphere?
Where do you think that carbon came from in the first place? Carbon is one of the most stable and abundant elements in the universe.

Not only that, but CO2 is also a basic compound in the cycle of life. Without it, plants can't grow. Without plants, animals and humans can't grow either.

As for how much CO2 should be in the air, no one can tell me what the "ideal PPM" is.

"But but keeping it where it is is better than it going up and to the right!!!" Why? Because if it goes above, say, 500 PPM, is the world going to end?

Give me a break.
