Minor correction -- SS/L is actually not the primary manufacturer of the Globalstar satellites; final assembly is in Italy by the Italian partner. However, SS/L is the system manager, designed the satellites, and is a subsystem manufacturer. The system manager function is critical and it is for this that SS/L reaps 1.5% of Globalstar's gross revenues as a fee. So unlike QCOM and the other partners, LOR has a double take in Globalstar. It reaps 38% of the profits from its partnership share (the largest), and its SS/L operation collects 1.5% of gross revenue as a fee for managing the system.

Brian,

Thanks for the info on QCOM's direct stake in Globalstar and current and potential equipment sales related to Globalstar. I'm a QCOM shareholder who is considering to what extent I'm already "in effect" invested in Globalstar through QCOM.
