There was a proposed Statement of Position issued last April 22 by the AICPA, requiring expensing of start-up costs associated with new plants and products, to be effective for fiscal years beginning after December 15, 1997. This SOP has apparently not reached the FASB. If adopted by FASB, this could affect earnings this quarter and next, for TFS (and SMU). Unable to determine the current status of this proposal. Anyone know anything about this ??? This was AICPA/AcSEC Project 4323 (Start-up Costs).

Toshiba is the first to market with Low T p-Si. Many of the Japanese conglomerates will follow. The US has no program of note to my knowledge in Low T Poly.
