Al-- Thanks for the scan; are you pleased with their product? Interestingly, I picked up VECO off a scan last week and took a position. You can find my comments on it a few posts back. WEN looks good to me too, on brief inspection. I have been searching for companies with historically strong earnings and growth that had a bad quarter or two, and whose chart exhibits either dead cat, double bottom or huge volume at a long range uptrend line. I have not been able to fully take advantage of some of Doug's picks because I can not watch for the volume and price signals he recommends. Another in this category that came up on another scan was SPS Technologies(ST) BUSINESS SUMMARY ST designs, manufactures and markets high-strength precision mechanical fasteners and components; and super- alloys in ingot form and magnetic materials. For the 9 months ended 9/97, sales rose 20% to $433.4M. Net income rose 40% to $24M. Revenues reflect higher aerospace fast- ener sales as a result of improving demand in the aerospace market. Earnings also reflect cost reductions related to the Company's investment in new employee training programs.
