Pae,

I live in a very small community that must be "out of the norm". I presently have cable access which I have been using for 14 months. Armstrong Cable is our cable provider. There are different fees for different services. The local telephone company is Alltel. They off their own ISP service with 56K of both x2 and Flex. They also offer dry copper for xDSL. There are a few local ISPs and Toolcity offers ADSL for $20.00/month if the end user supplies them with a compatible modem.

i am envious, is there any houses on your street for sale? i asked my local phone company about dsl, and here is there reply:

We have received your letter regarding ADSL.

GTE Communications commercially deployed ADSL Mid. Nov. 1997
in Southern California and will offer ADSL in "numerous key
Markets" throughout the US in 1998.

GTE Network Services plans to convert its ADSL trials into full-scale
commercial deployment in first Quarter 1998
SDSL services converted to rate-adaptive ADSL in 4th Quarter 1997.
