Can't comment on any of the particulars of the TI contract,
since I don't know. The Cadence competition would be Saber
vs. Spectre I guess. Spectre is an IC simulator, however, and
Saber is a more high-level, systems-level simulator. Saber can
handle domains other than electrical (as well as electrical) in
the same solution vector. We call this mixed-technology (like
electrical/hydraulic/mechanical, all using the same system
description). We do a Frameway integration product with Cadence
where we integrate to their schematic capture (as well as Mentor
Graphics, and ViewLogic) so we can use that as the basis for
describing the design (via netlisters and other communication
between the schematic capture and our own SaberGuide.
