Re how-sanctioning-chinas-development-has-failed.html <<“Huawei will save talent, not US dollars,” Ren said in the speech>>

whilst at Macau walking through the connected hotels I ran across a shop that had in stock Huawei Mate 60 Pro for +50% premium (US$ 1,350), the geewhizbangohwhoawee phone WSJ, Bloomberg, NYT, WaPo all abuzz about. I controlled self.

Huawei yesterday released the Huawei Mate 60 Pro+ phonearena.com and a foldable phone.

I wait. For the geewhizbangohwhoawee+ is worth waiting for. I want it not to use, but as keep-sake, to memorialise a major trade war point.

Huawei founder Ren really should send a thank-you card and a set of Huawei Mate 60 Pro+ and HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate to both Biden and Trump just so that both are enabled with 2-ways satellite-communications from wherever they end up once the court cases are done-done, and all with 14-days charge, albeit via security-less China Telecom subscription service globaltimes.cn "Huawei Mate 60 Pro draws public closer to China’s space communication satellite system" / huaweicentral.com "Huawei announced Satellite SMS feature update for Watch Ultimate"

Am guessing the pair of goodies should go well with the gun that Hunter has.

Speaking of guns, am guessing that the pairing and goods shall also end up worn by soldiers in near-enough future, and if so, unless Apple / Samsung do same-same, militaries around the world best buy Huawei, unless willing to suffer strategically important tactical advantage.

Since Huawei is already completely sanctioned by Team USA and therefore sanction-proofed, am guessing the goods shall show up in the Ukraines before too long, especially if DJI drone app integrated, since DJI drones are also sanctioned.

The Arabians shall likely buy-in, with CNY as opposed to USD, to not be bothered by sanctions, doubtless

Tech war: Huawei surprises again with low-key presales of top-of-the-line Mate 60 Pro+ as US-blacklisted firm stays mum over ‘breakthrough’ 5G mobile chip
- Huawei on Friday started offering its top-of-the-line Mate 60 Pro+ smartphone for a US$136 down payment and expected delivery no later than October 9
- The 5G handset has 4 gigabytes more memory than the Pro version and offers a 1-terabyte maximum storage option, same as Apple ’s iPhone 14 Pro Max

Re <<China front>>

very interesting, that Apple, already on the back-foot in China

Apple faces stiff competition from Oppo for the top spot in Chinese mobile market
Apple and Oppo were the top smartphone makers in China in Q1 2023, despite the market's continued decline. Oppo had the largest share of shipments, with Apple close behind. None of the top five vendors recorded positive growth, and smartphone production is down 13.8% in China this year.

Apple could lose ~20M iPhone shipments in 2024 due to China ban, Huawei competition - analysts
The situation in China has developed as the government ordered officials at central government agencies not to use iPhones and other foreign-branded devices for work or bring them into the office. These instructions were reportedly communicated to staff by their superiors in workplace chat groups or meetings, the WSJ report noted.

... is being given a gentle push and a helpful shove, as the government offices ban (following Team USA playbook) might result in further doubtlessly efficacious enforcement by China Mobile and China Telecom through progressive denial of selected services / functions / geographies (parts of town) to Apple and non-Android-open-source phone users. Should such be so, Google and Apple, Samsung and Microsoft all tee-ed up for enhanced trade war detailing in the counter offensive.

BTW, Huawei satellite communication obviously ONLY works with another satellite-communication enabled phone, and that would be ... well, another Huawei :0) douyin.com

There can be no de-risking. There can only be de-coupling.
