Red Herring Response I think the message the Red Herring was trying to convey, although in a somewhat negative way, is that it will take a combination of digital certificates, encryption and biometric verification to successfully make e-commerce safe. We have been saying this all along, especially Wendell. We are not saying that biometrics - oops, I said that dirty word again, biometrics! biometrics! biometrics!, sorry - will be the only method needed to safeguard internet transactions. It will take a combination of all three methods. It is nice for The Red Herring to come late to the party and declare that they completely understand the problem, but none of us do.
