For decades, the left assumed that, if they kept "cancelling" the "racists," they will eventually die off and the younger generation will grow up free from racism. This fantasy continues unabated even today. Not only that, but it seems the left continues to double-down, triple-down, and even quadruple-down on a failed strategy of political exclusion and non-compromise. It's no wonder that the "racists" are now inclined to believe in personality cults and conspiracy theories. In other words, Trump is just as much a creation of the left as he is a creation of the right.
