Yes, great book, great story, vividly told. I can still picture Ken Kesey, wearing his Captain Marvel inspired cape, playing the maestro....

Bonfire of the Vanities is one of the Great American novels, no question about that.

Sometimes A Great Notion
The movie version was filmed in and around my old home town on the Oregon coast where I grew up. The locals thought it was quite a big deal with movie stars roaming around the town. Several of my friends were extras in the flick and the Stamper clan's house on the Siletz River, which was built for the movie, is still there and occupied..

The fishing trip in the One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest movie was also filmed there, out of Depoe Bay..

Brings back memories..
