Hasn't 3COM already taken a charge for the inventory problems with old modems? Also, I have a Palm Pilot and the modem. Great products.

<it seems everywhere I go I see unsold USRX modems>

Chris, I looked at it differently. If a retail store stocks a product to the ceiling, it indicates that the store is confident in selling the stuff. Shelving space is extremely precious and the more you can get the better.

It's how much sell-through that counts, not how much on the shelves. I guess one can stand by the checkout counter and count how many usrx modems they sell each day.

Christopher,
I read your post and decided that it was time to buy a new external modem. I called Comp USA and a couple of other stores and they quoted me $129 for a 33.6 K external. So jump on it if you can get that price. It's not everywhere.

Regards
David

Christopher, I bought a USR ext. 56K voice modem a few weeks ago and had to shop around for it. I found internals most everywhere, maybe people are a bit apprehensive to open up their PCs. I removed an internal in order to free up the slot for another card.
