FWIW. I had a brief conversation with a high level Cray exec at a dinner party over the weekend. He told me that Cray is focusing on SuperHIPPI as its favored interconnect. He also mentioned Cray is interested in putting switching capabilities directly in its servers (how exactly would that work?). I wasn't sure if he meant just HIPPI switching or FC switching or both. Unfortunately I didn't have time to get clarification. He did say Cray was not looking at OEMing any FC switches.
