One big negative is that it is based on DCE Beware of relying upon press reports for vital information! This is a "sound-bite" level analysis only. CB is interesting technology. Underneath the covers it is a rock-solid CORBA implementation, and can therefore take full advantage of existing components - for example Kerberos, which happens to be DCE based. To interpret this as making CB "DCE - based" is to miss the whole point of OMG's Object Management Architecture. CB is quite detailed, but is worth some study for those with the patience to wade through it. david
