Dave,re"FedEx". Good info. Can we say nobody is going to DIE because
of the existence of the other?

Also, 'can't reboot from NT'? Hmmm, wonder why? Maybe just part of
technology development. Also that's always the strategy of
MSFT.

Come to think of it deeply, that's the SCARY PART of using NT,
you are stucked because like the winXX strategy, a lot of things
may not work with it and you have to be 100% MSFT.

This tells me NC(in whatever form) will be a gurrantee success due
to MSFT's obsession with 'My(Msft way or no way'.

Sure hope FedEX learned the REAL lesson and woke up.

Funny there are two side of spinS for every story.

Daivd, check this:"http://www.ncworldmag.com/ncw-02-1998/ncw-02-genesplicer.html".

Inside, there is a paragraph:

"Which server OS? Don't choose one. Get two, get several.
The number one reason IT managers are happy with network computing
is this:
With the network computing model, server operating systems and
their accompanying bodies of OS-specific applications don't compete
for and exclude each other as they do in the desktop computing model.
"
