link pls.

A 2500' oil column is HUGE in how it was drilled. Vertically penetrated that is awesome if the porosity is normal. However, if it is soucre rock, but no trap, then it is virtually meaningless. Need a link to the article.

On 3D yes and no. It is a tool that enhances the likelihood of discovering hydrocarbons. It helps after a discovery in defining the limits of the actual formation without guessing where it is.

You still have to drill the wells; do downhole and open hole testing to determine the size, reserves and recoverable reserves. Not all oil is recoverable from a well without extreme methods such as gas injection, waterflooding, steam, acidizing, etc.
