Press Release

Company Launches Marketing Thrust Into Gold Mining Industry

Fredericton, NB 16 February 1998 - - - EMR Microwave Technology Corporation
("EMR") (EMW-ASE) announces the release of its product Marketing Plan and
the launch of its marketing campaign to debut at the annual Prospectors and
Developers Association Meeting in Toronto on 8-11 March.ÿ The marketing
team, under the direction of the Marketing Manager and directly supported
by senior management, will actively promote the company's industrial
capability at four major trade shows and conferences in early 1998, a
campaign which targets the majority of mining companies and executives
throughout North Americaÿ and several other gold producing regions of the
world.ÿ Initial contacts will be followed up with direct presentations.
This initiative is designed to realize EMR's objective of entering as many
as four agreements with mining companies in the current year and double
that number in each of the next five years.

In addition to featuring EMR's show booth and information materials, the
campaign is scheduled to present several key technical papers at
conferences associated with the trade shows.

EMR's primary market focus is to sulphide refractory gold ore producers
whose mill rates are of the order of 100 - 200 tons per day concentrate.
This includes refractory tailing deposits.ÿ EMR's refractory pre-treatment
processes have been successfully operated at the company's Lincoln Pilot
Plant up to 10 tpd module capacity, with engineering design underway for
expansion to 100 tpd modular capacity.ÿ This means that EMR can now deliver
total plant capacity up to a few hundred tons per day based on multiple
modules of the proven Pilot Plant design and will soon be able to extend
this upwards of 1000 tpd using the larger module capacity.

EMR has also developed its economic analysis model, in conjunction with
Natural Resources Canada, to perform detailed economic cost analysis on any
specific mine situations showing the marginal benefits of the microwave
process over competing pre-treatment methods.

EMR's marketing thrust emphasizes both the economic and technological
advantages of microwave processing and is designed to promote the company's
visibility in the mining community.

Denis, I guess you could call me a mining guy. I am relatively young and love taking plenty of risk. I get involved with small/micro-caps many of which are VSE mining hopefuls.
Today's press release looks very promising... at least it appears the company is doing more than sitting on their hands. Looking forward to the upcoming months..
