I read the article and I don't like the way they state things. 2500' of net pay is quite large, but the way the went to get to that is confusing to say the least. Still and all they have what looks to be a nice discovery.

Look, I know a field that has 35' of net oil pay that yields 8000-10000 bpod per well. If I remember correctly, OIL Colombia play had zones that were 1100'. Porosity is important.

They yield 4500 bpod flow rate, with no water from another well in the contract area, which ain't too shabby. Looks good, but Colombia is an extremely difficult place with plenty of internal problems. Guerilla groups such as ELN or FARC really despise the oil companies.

I work in Colombia in the 80's for over a year. Took me about 6 months to recover from the experience which was full of danger.
