For most it is disbelief. Look, it is contrary to human nature to be pessimistic about the market. These emotions should not be what drives us. The market goes up 60% of the time and down 40% of the time. This why the long term charts begin at the lower left and move to the upper right. There has never been a correction or bear market that not resolved itself by a recovery and move to new all time highs.
There will be times the market goes up and times the market goes down. Determining the direction at any one time should not be affected by how we FEEL. It
It is difficult for most people to overcome the natural tendency to be optimistic and bullish. Most cannot do it at all. It is easy to be bullish because it is only natural.

Look at the record since January 2022. At every minor low the perma bulls called for an immediate advance to new all-time highs. They were wrong. The near perma bulls did the same. The perma bulls called for it and near perma bulls said that sounds great and joined the permas in their error. It is just human nature.
This will continue until the end of this bear market that, at present, is not near over.
I recognize this is not a popular opinion. It is not one held by the herd. A call for a prolonged bear market will never be popular with the herd. Every bounce along the way down will be seen as evidence that the correction is over and happy days are here again. It is just human nature on display.
The time will come that this decline that began in Jan 2022 will end and the market will recover and we will go to new all-time highs. That time, however, is not yet. We dropped in the first wave of the decline and then we recovered most of the decline and now we are going down in the third wave of the decline.
That is how I see it. It doesn't matter to me who agrees or disagrees or who likes it or dislikes it, that is my opinion
One thing is certain, time will tell.
