Amazingly ignorant statement adolf. Inflation was under 2% under Trump. Pedo joe came in & spent $6 Trillion + another $2 Trillion in the works and voila we have inflation north of 10%.

Dems the facts & you can go full goebbels and nothing will change them.

> needs more food to avert mass starvation

Technically I think that's incorrect. Starvation is a function of distribution not production.

> use more energy than we are producing

Technically this is true because storage is more important than production. Again when oil hit ZERO dollar per barrel it was because producers had no buyers because all the storage tanks were full. Wildcatters were paying shipping companies to lease their tanker to store oil they couldn't sell.

This was at the height of Covid. People weren't driving much.

My view is inflation is caused by too many people in non-productive jobs.

A good case is my industry. There aren't enough people willing to build homes. Ask any general contractor. Old fucks like me are retiring and young people aren't entering the building market. But they aren't making enough to buy a home built by the few people willing to build them anymore.

Kind of dumb. Talked to a kid at a bank counter new to the job. He wants to be in the financial business. AI is going to gut that business. AI has decades to go before robots can do construction jobs economically.

AI is going to gut the coding industry, the design business, much of the white collar workforce, much of the auto building business, the lucrative part of the music industry, much of the film industry... I knew that it was coming a long time ago... I was a geek in college, I could see most of web design was going to be automated.

The thing is though... business doesn't pass along their lower costs to consumers as much as it rewards those at the top.

So the mansion business is still going to thrive.

Wharfie,
Inflation will continue as long as the world wants to use more energy than we are producing, needs more food to avert mass starvation than is currently reaching the marketplace, and we have many more job openings than workers.
Maybe we shouldn't be shunning fossil fuels then, given how they're still more potent sources of energy than solar and wind.

Maybe we shouldn't be shunning GMOs and chemical fertilizers (cough cough Sri Lanka), if we're not producing enough food for the world.

Either way, Wharfie, what you are saying smacks of the old myth over the population bomb. That thinking died with the 1970's.

Sarah Silverman says Democratic Socialists of America have 'lost' her

17h ago / 1:31 PM CST

Marlene Lenthang

Comedian Sarah Silverman on Tuesday criticized the Democratic Socialists of America for issuing a statement that supported "Free Palestine" and condemned Israel.

Silverman, who described herself as a "proud lifetime member" of DSA, said that the party has "lost me forever" after its National Political Committee released a statement.

The group said the ongoing conflict in Israel and the Gaza Strip is due to Israel’s government, which they described as “a regime that receives billions in funding from the United States.” Silverman posted a screenshot of their statement in her own post.

While she said she's "still a democratic socialist," she pushed back on their stance.

“These are kids, babies, children, teens, elderly, many of whom like my family march in the streets nightly protesting Netanyahu and the occupation — That’s who Hamas murdered,” she wrote on Instagram. "Do you get that they don’t give a F— about Palestinian lives?????"

Celebrities like Josh Gad and Debra Messing were among those who commented their support for Silverman's post.
