If your question is serious, I suggest you read segments from the following. Start with PacTel's white paper as I believe it represents all RBOCs. Once you have an understanding of the problem, you'll see the need for solutions --- xDSL being one of the most viable. The remaining URLs represent companies actively involved in bringing ADSL to market.
