Cheeky, Canada Stockwatch had a free trial period for market depth when they first introduced it. I tried it but had difficulty in using it to predict price movement. What you are saying clearing indicates something which we likely already know. There is a good deal of manipulation in these markets.

From discussion with others who use market depth, some claim they can tell which way the stock will move, others use it to judge entry levels for stocks they follow and also it is used for determining support and resistance levels for a stock. One thing it does not show is special orders such as limit orders which can kick in, thus blurring the statistics that you are looking at.

I do like to see the depth for a stock I am looking at trading but it can drive you crazy looking at depth on a lot of stocks that you are following.

No simple solutions to making our job easy, are there? Perhaps others can educate us on this.
