All good quesitons. I believe I've seen a Stephen post where he indicated that the format was proprietary. As far as being bootable, I don't recall reading any of his posts where he talked about that. It's still in the 'vapor' stage.

On the Syquest thread I posted a question about the Sony drive and got the following response from Mark:
