I too have this problem today. Their service
has deteriorated substantially recently.
I have 10k stocks on my PC. I used to update
5000 stocks in one download. I only need
two downloads everyday. However, I could
not do it any more. I got 'time out' messages.
I was told by their technical support that the
loading on their computer was heavier than
usual since Jan. I have to divide the job into
smaller groups, i.e. download about 1500-2000
stocks each time. This is really annoying. I simply
don't have the time sitting before my PC waiting
the download, update and select next group.
That's why I also subscribe QP. QP does handle
change of symbol, new listing, etc. I can then
generate a new list every month and maintain
my database. However, QP only has two-year data, and
QP's data on indexes are not clean. Closing numbers
are OK, but high, low, and open need improvement.
Conclusion, nothing is perfect.
