this VIX indicator is somewhat accurate.. i dont have data myself, but my friend has it and he's been on the ball lately..

im not sure if he is interpretating as the same as wiliam hueb who started with the VIX..

Another indicator I like to watch is the Volatility Index (VIX).
Since last summer it has given worthwhile signals of a correction
in the market each time the index stayed in the 20-22 range.
Look at the chart "Another Warning?" at:

pw1.netcom.com

Notice the circled areas on both the VIX and the S&P and see
what followed, once the Vix moved out of the 20-22 range.
