Would be more accurate if you stated it "most students are forced to learn to program on PCs."

A great many students [unknown qty] find their way quietly and sometimes secretly to the highly productive Mac environment to use Code Warrior.

I think one has to look more carefully at the survey results these
conclusions are based on. For example, sales of NT server software
does not exactly match the marketplace of Unix server workstations.
I think NT is more likely displacing alot of systems that formerly
were running network server OS like Novell. It makes perfect
sense for NT to displace Novell services. But I don't think there
is a large share of NT servers being purchased as replacements for
Unix systems yet. Keep in mind that Unix systems are seldom used
as simple file servers. And also keep in mind that sales of Unix
is growing at the same time.
