What it illustrates is that Israel and its supporters are, of course, non-monolithic on Palestinians just as Palestinians are non-monolithic.

There are peacenicks on both sides trying to end the hatred and injustice.

And extremists on both sides who erroneously think they can end the "Troubles" with hyper violence.

Among Israelis there are those who also believe in a final solution, more than most people think... but they'd never be caught in public saying those words.

The difference is one side is all powerful and well funded.

Wharfie,
I thought WW2 put an end to that, altho Putin is trying it in Ukraine.
Apparently not. Like I said before, "Never again" has turned into "Again and again."

You should realize how many people in the world believe that Israel shouldn't even exist. I'll bet you even the Hamas sympathizers on this very thread believe deep down that the creation of the modern state of Israel was a mistake.

The latest meme from the anti-Western propagandists is that Israel was formed by British "colonizers." There may be some truth to that meme, but like everything else from the same propagandists, it is rife with irony and hypocrisy.

Anyway, with regard to Gaza's existence, it seems there is tremendous pressure to not wipe it from the map, most notably from the Brandon administration:

Biden urges Israel to delay Gaza offensive until Hamas releases more hostages | The Times of Israel

Or not ...

White House says Biden did not hear question about Israel delaying ground invasion of Gaza | Reuters

Hard to tell given the absolute and utter incompetence coming from this administration.
