Pride is at stake in the short term and letting the dog loose now will only encourage him to do more tricks later or encourage other bad doggies to follow suit. How does it look to conservative shareholders that have been spending $$$ on R&D to find that their research is second rate. The big three would rather put the noisy dog into the pound that they control rather than placate him with a stake. He might starve or get euthanized at the pound, but he will only get stronger with a steak. No quick bones for this doggy-big three can afford to wait.....

The negative posts from automotive sources on this and other webs adds to this assertion.

(Their strategy may backfire, word is that BAAT has connections to the Big Dog Catcher- we may yet see who the paddy wagon cometh for. An old Alaskan saying- be careful of the toes you step on, it may be connected to the ass that you may have to kiss later.)
