Greg, The Mercury is usually good in this area, but they missed part of the boat by not even mentioning Taiwan. While Korea and Japan cut back, Taiwan and MU gear up production to more than fill any void. Yes, the Taiwanese are a small factor now, but you don't bet on the horse that is currently in first place, you bet on the one that is running fastest, and Taiwan is now outrunning Japan and Korea in new fabs. And, they have zilch in foreign debt, huge trade surpluses and all those other things that allow them to compete favorably with their strapped brethen. MB
