I'll tell you this. baat has the power to ask for a trading halt! If they are clean this may be their best move. Because when they are cleared it will get ugly, ugly for the shorts.

>>>This stock WAS shorted and shorted pretty heavily. I know at $3 it got killed all the way down to $1 where the shorts started covering. <<<

Do you have a secret method if discerning whether a sell is an opening or closing transaction? You don't think it possible that selling pressure was longs cashing out, do you? If you had any experience shorting, you'd know that it's the stocks with no short interest that fall as precipitously as BAAT did from 3.25 to 1. Short sellers would have cushioned the fall. It's just that plain and simple. Oh, BTW, I was watching that dump on real time level II as it happened, FWIW.

I think you're assuming things you have no facts to support.

I don't think this stock can be shorted; however, if what you said is true, in order to materialize the profit in the short position, they have to buy the same amount of BAAT shares to cover it in the near future, which means the stock will go up soon, because they have to do it quick before the trading of this stock is halted. Once it happens (short covering), it's gonna be ugly for all the shorts, because no one would buy BAAT out of all the bad news at that time, and due to the inbalance of the demand and supply, the stock will be going up very sharply.
