How does this handle some boards where the moderator encourages/allows a handful of people to argue politics since it boosts the metrics? To better reflect board popularity in the default sort ordering, we have introduced a new metric, board "popularity". This new metric takes into account not only the number of posts over the preceding 7-day period, but also improves a boards positioning on the list based upon the breadth of posting - the number of distinct Members participating in the subject board discussion over the same period. I'd rather have one person posting great charts each day than 4 arguing whose politician's poop stinks the least.
