Just an FYI It seems TLAB just bought COHR. Since TLAB was rising on LU merger rumors, and this would seem to dispel thise now, plus the buying company going down anyway, we may see TLAB drop 5-6 points tomorrow.

COHERENT COMMUNICATIONS TO BECOME SUBSIDIARY OF TELLABS

Lisle, Ill., -- Tellabs and Coherent Communications today announced a merger agreement under which Coherent Communications Systems Corporation of Ashburn, Va., USA, will become a subsidiary of Tellabs.

Under the terms of the agreement, all outstanding shares of Coherent stock will be exchanged at the ratio of 0.72 shares of Tellabs common stock for each share of Coherent common stock. Based on the closing price of Tellabs common stock on February, 13, 1998, the transaction is valued at approximately $670 million. Excluding one-time transaction costs of two cents-to-three cents per share, modest earnings-per-share accretion is expected in 1998 and 1999.

Pancho remember SIEB? <<09:26 ET Siebert Financial Corp. (SIEB) 17: Remember SIEB from Friday. Stock rose 6 1/4 pts on announcement of a 4-for-1 stock split. This morning, SIEB shares indicated another 3 1/2 pts higher. If trading this one, remember to watch the spread. On Friday it was as wide as 2 pts.>>

Today up another 11 to 28. All for a stock that traded between 5 - 10 all year and announced a 4 for 1 split due to SEC regulations. Hmmm, It seems Muriel controls 95% of all stock, so there's no float there, I guess the play was long :-)

BFIT up 26% in 2 weeks not my idea of a good short? Just curious what criteria do you use? 300% run in 9 mos....not one downturn....a perfect 45 degree trend!
