I think that I have an INTEL motherboard w/the ??430 chipset (Triton I think )and while I like the board OK, in order to increase the throughput by going to a SCSI controller ( taking up a PCI slot ), and I have the All-In-Wonder card in another PCI slot, and soon a network card in another PCI slot. My ISA slots are filled with a modem, satellite, and soundblaster! I guess that I am running out of slots, and need more! I understand that after W98 is released, that there will be a gradual migration the the higher speeds that SCSI offers. If the peripheral devices were on 'daughterboard', when the next level of 'throughput' came out, we could just change the mother boards! If I change to the SCSI, which I can do with several cards, the EIDE controllers that I have paid for will be unused! I only have 2 slots for my SDRAM, so am limited to the amount of memory that I can add. If there was more 'real estate' available by moving chips to 'daughterboards' and allowing for more memory! Maybe memory could be put on 'daugherboards' but with the speeds climbing, I'm not sure that the 'distance' could be tolerated.

Just observations and questions! There would probably not be a big enough market for the configuration that I want!

Thoughts?
