Ben Carson was raised poor. Single Mom worked 3 jobs and made sure her Son’s learned to read and study.

All your points regarding the Japanese Americans being taken to concentration camps and the idea that African Americans weren't capable of fighting were very obviously racist policy decisions made by FDR who was one of the biggest and well known racists of his time...

Anyone who doesn't see that for what it really was has to be blind and/or stupid or both...

Unfortunately he got a pass on a lot of his racist policies because he was also trying to protect us from our foreign enemies, so many people somehow overlooked his racist hate...

We still see that same illogical tolerance in so many of our current day politicians, most of whom are nothing more than corrupt criminals hacking the political system for personal gain and the hell with you and me...

You also make a very excellent point that no Italian Americans were ever sent to any concentration camps while the Japanese and African Americans suffered such disgraceful treatment...

No one is perfect and nothing is perfect, and all of it are growing pains and lessons we hope taught us so we don't repeat the past again...

Unfortunately, and I probably said this 1000 times already here and elsewhere, that it takes about 75 years for people to forget what they already learned the hard way once before...

I also probably said several time before but it needs saying again: all of us may have come here on different ships and at different times, but we're all in the same boat now...

Now more than ever, we need to pull together or we'll end up ripping ourselves apart...
