Jason,

There is no question that T2R is a excellent brute force processor. Now the question is " Is it the best?" Best can refer to two parts, one is technology, second is price. On technology, NINE is among the faster 2D processor you can buy and it is also the one of the most high image quality for your highend monitor because of its dedicate RamDac. However, Matrox also has a Millenium II which match its 2D performance and image quality (actually a better RamDac too) and most important it has reliable NT driver which Rev3D doesn't yet has. For 3D, its performance is slightly slower than RagePro, Voodoo, Verite1000; significantly slower than Nvidia Riva128, Verite2100, VoodooII. Among them RagePro and VeriteXX00 is selling cheaper than T2R. On price, Millenium II (MII) is selling about the same as Rev3D, MII has an edge on NT but lack the direct3D power and beautiful Mpeg playback of Rev3D. But wait a second, isn't MII and Rev3D targeted to highend users which NT is very important? Rev3D is selling about 30 to 40% more than ATI RagePro, the RagePro is almost as fast as Rev3D in Win95 2D (except in 32bit mode) and offer better 3D. Mpeg playback quality is similar for both but ATI has ATI TV-Tuner addon. In the lowend, Verite 2100 can be bought for less than $120 but it offer fantasitic 3D and adequate 2D. NVidia Riva128 is also an excellent 2D/3D combo which price slightly cheaper than Rev3D and with the help of STB, it is easily found in many OEM boxes like GW2k, Dell, Quantex... Do you think NINE can regain the market share under this intense competition with the T2R????? I can tell you that Rev3D WRAM is not a very attrative product and I don't see SGRAM version which the mgt promised for couple months. There is definitely some problems with the management! The problem of the mgt is it always want to be the "best" but it has limited resource. The result is it spend millions on product with little demand.

Hope to hear some good news from the earning release. I want to hear some restructuring and financial solution...
