Gary, Bernie;
<<You mentioned Sime Darby. Seattle paper here says Boeing has formed J-V with Sime Darby and another Co. to build airplane parts for final assembly in the States. Maybe that is trivial news. >>

It wasn't trivial news here. The new JV will make aircraft parts using a proprietary composite materials process. Quite interesting actually and another reflection of SIDBY's diversified activities. One reason I like it. Have been sitting waiting to jump on it now for several days. Bernie, is it soup yet?
best,
Stitch

Gary;
Yes I posted the news of Malaysia Helicopter (a major shareholder in MAS), Boeing and SDarby JV with a Conn. company to manufacture composite aircraft parts HERE in Malaysia. I think the total investment in plant etc. was around 150MM.

Maybank is probably the strongest of the region. Lately it has been down, probably due to profit taking. Don't know much about TA but am still waiting for this one.

Regards
bt
