COTS as of November 7, 2023 Bullish Candle for Silver - Weak Treasury Auction The Commitment of Traders report was updated one day later this week. The next update will be the usual Friday afternoon. For the fourth week in a row the commercials added to their net short position in gold. This time the change in gold was smaller. In silver the commercials decreased their net short position. See here and here and here. Gold has pulled back to its 200 dma. The HUI followed suit and is approaching oversold. Silver pulled back to the $22 level. Copper pulled back to the$ 3.60 level and is consolidating above its lows. Platinum and palladium broke to new lows. WTIC was trading below its 200 dma last week and rallied to touch the 200 dma. Natgas is at the low end of its upward channel which started in April. The US$ rallied up to the 105 level. The yield on the 10 year US treasuries rallied from the 4.5 level to 4.65 along with the news of a weak treasury auction. The DOW, SPX, QQQ and TSX all continued their rallies which started after the Fed announcement. Ed Steer's comments: On gold: "... from a COMEX futures market perspective, the set-up in gold is far from bullish ..." On silver: "... the current set up for silver in the COMEX futures market is back to being white-hot bullish once more."
