You would have been right if the money were in Iomega selling their Zip drives--it's not. The money is made by Iomega being able to sell their Zip discs at obscene profits. Knock-off discs will take this money straight out of Iomega's pocket.

As more bad news is revealed about this, look for IOM stock price to fall even more. It will probably break support at $8 and fall to $6 1/2.

What you are postulating is impossible due to various court cases last year.

The machines that make Zip disks are patented. Due to a breach of contract, the company that makes the machines was sued by Iomega. In the settlement, the company cannot sell any of these machines without Iomega's permission. Only Noumai already has such machines - maximum production for Noumai = 10 million/year.
