Ramsey: Forget about American Network news people, they seem to be more interested in Lewinsky (aka who slept with whom) rather than such mundane issues as world 'affairs'(i guess pun intended,if there is any). I got one word for you ITN,if you get it through your Public Television.

Ramsey,

Yeah, but what if the stock market was down 90% in $US. Don't you think that anything less than complete meltdown is already priced in or are they just pricing there companies at 90% off because they feel generous today? Complete meltdown, at least of the region would be felt worldwide. The powers do not want that and are working on the problem. This does not seem too big for them to handle. Look at the US stock market/economy over the last fifteen yrs. I've been doom and gloom before and almost always been wrong. I don't believe that the end of the world is here yet either. The future is going to be fine.

What if over the next couple of years things got back to normal and the stock markets reach their old highs up 1000%.
I don't know about you but I like the odds a lot better now than when the press and everyone is telling you how great things are, like back at the end of '93.

BTW Indonesia still kinda scares me.

Best Regards,

Derrick

Ramsey,

<<<<Where is CNN, CBS, NBC, the National Enquirer? Do you think they can pull one or two reporters out of the thousands sleeping outside Lewinsky's apartment and send them to Jakarta instead? >>>>

A lot of effort seems to be going into helping Indonesia do the right things. The WSJ reported that many of the worlds political leaders were writing/calling Suharto to persuade him not to go to a currency board system. Seeing that results have not been great so far maybe they need to get Monica Lewinsky to call him.

The WSJ also reported that negotiations similar to those set up between Korean debtors and the global bank creditors have at least begun with Indonesia. They were currently arguing about who should head the negotiations.

Maybe a 'little' light is shining?

Best Regards,

Derrick
