I believe there was talk of a Japanese investor. They may have a license.

<<Rights of Others.

In exchange for payments towards product development costs, IDT licensed the right to make, use and sell the WinChip C6 microprocessor to a third party. Further, the license with the third party limits the number of additional licenses that IDT may grant. Thus, the Company may face competition from the third party in the future and may be limited in its ability to license the part.>>

frank,

i would say you have missed far less than i have.

Frank. The 10Qs/Ks etc. are publicly disclosed documents that can be copied freely.

The discussion is interesting. This may have to do with investment made by IBM to help develop the C6 at Centaur. I vaguely remember having heard something discussed in one of the conference calls and think it applies only to the original C6 design. This needs to be a question for IDTI - give the IR department a call.

Hello, Rob. I discovered something interesting in IDT's 10Q. Here is the text.

"Rights of Others. In exchange for payments towards product development costs, IDT licensed the right to make, use and sell the Winchip C6 to a third party."

Do you or anyone else have any idea about the third party? Just let me throw in some wild guesses: IBM, TXN or what??

Regards,
Baoho

Baoho,

It is my recollection form a newspaper article in SJ mercury news
quoting Perham. I am 99% certain. Also true according to sources
in the company. NKK has only the rights to the first version of
the C6, this seems like a free 5 million (investment amount) to me.
