Off topic: Something interesting happened to me a few months back. Got an e-mail from recruiting at Microsoft. It was kind of funny. The note said that this person had been in touch with someone that was familiar with my ____ technical talents and abilities and who "highly regarded my work." Then asked me to respond by sending a resume. Sounded like so much BS. After a few e-mails, I realized it really was somebody from recruiting at MSFT. Then I got curious -- I asked the woman who the mutual acquaintance was or where she got my name -- guess where? -- S.I.

Apparently they were using the internet to "shotgun" e-mails to engineering/software folks. I guess it's tough for them to continue finding "good" people.
