By May 1974, the U.S was able to convince Israel to withdraw their troops form the Sinai peninsula (A strip of land east of the Suez Canal seized form Egypt by Israel in the Six-Day War of 1967)and as a result, the embargo was lifted and supplies of oil began to flow again. You referenced gas lines and yes they occurred then but I didn't get my license until '77 and after I did my mother would send me out to get in line at a station that had gas that day. Thanks Jimmah!
