I don't know if those earnings will help CDG, only 3.5% above estimates. Others have done much better (PKD comes to mind) and did nothing but fall. But I think technically Glenn, we are in for a comeback tomorrow, maybe that will help.

I've spent the weekend adding fundamental analysis to my site at
lonestar.texas.net

Earnings estimates, earnings growth numbers, projected PE's are all included, check it out, tell me what you think.

A couple of thoughts after going through the fundamentals:
1) Why do I own PKD? It is a land driller. A land driller specializing in difficult and hard to reach areas no less. Wouldn't these be the first to be abandoned if rates continue to fall? I'm selling at the next opportunity, I don't care how great their earnings estimates and projected PE's are!
2) CDG has 6 land rigs to go along with its 14 Jack-ups and 6 MOPU's. Is this the reason it is having stock price trouble, falling in sympathy with the land drillers.
3) NE has as many land rigs as Ocean rigs. Will this hurt them too?
4) Why do I own MIND? It's a 3D seismic company (the largest) but for LAND drillers. Won't the fall in land rates hurt them? I'm selling.
5) MDCO has the best valuations of all the Ocean drillers. Projected PE in 2 yrs of 6.1 too bad they are only shallow drillers.
6) FLC has great valuations for a deep water driller, Projected PE in 2 yrs of 8.9
7) Fundamentals on ESV and RDC look great also
