<This company is getting tired, with no second wind in sight.>

So are your posts <ggg>. What are you going to do after Clik! is released? Your life will have no purpose.

BTW, what ever happened to QGLY?

I just got back from New Orleans ( took the wife for Valentines day) and everywhere I went there were Iomega shopping bags, I thought about it and realized that it was from PMA. I really wanted to go but I promised the wife quality time, photography is a big hoby of mine too so I was very curious.
On the flight home the plane was packed and most were leaving PMA, I talked to a few about the show and all of them were shopping for digital equipment now. They seemed interested in click and had no negitive feedback. I did think it was interesting that Imation was giving shopping bags away as well, but I only saw one and about a million of the Iomega ones. Just my 2 cents worth but I think Clik is for real as digital photography is starting to get very big.

Regards,
Jeff

>>Just read the report from that camera show link. I'll say it now: Vapor! is in trouble. Still no solid OEM's, and no definite shipping date. Still just "Second Half of 1998" meaning anywhere from July 1, 1988 to Dec. 31, 1998.<<

Rocky -

Is it possible that you don't realize that this is exactly the position Sony's HiFD is in? No solid OEM's, no definite shipping date. Yet for some reason, you seem to believe that HiFD is real and Clik! isn't.

>>Click; no OEM's, no ship date, blah, blah, blah<<

You're understanding of IOM's product development strategy is pretty lame. Zip and Jaz were both introduced as consumer products with OEM participation planned for later in their life cycle when consumer demand justified their inclusion by OEM's. The click product life cycle plan is the same.

It seems that every time you see click being promoted in advance of it's rollout you interpret this as evidence of it's nonexistence. Could it be possible that IOM is building consumer awareness prior to Click's rollout? It seems to me that a company with the resources of IOM and the intent to bring Click to market should be promoting early and often to build demand prior to it's roll out.

And considering the magnitude of criticism the company has received for missing ship dates it would certainly be imprudent of IOM to box themselves into a narrow range of possible ship dates for click.

I suspect that the digital camera manufacturers will be watching the consumer's reaction to Click and will come on board when it makes sense for them to do so. I do not expect this to happen right out of the gate nor is it any more necessary for it to happen right away than it was for Zip.

It only matters that the consumer accept the product and that it be compatible and useful with a wide enough range of digital cameras and PDA's. That's no small task. Click has to work with a lot of different products, not just a few OEM's. It's no wonder that development and testing are taking so long.

Right now the consumer has no choice but to use expensive flash memory. It will be interesting to see what they choose when they can buy cross platform storage for $.25/meg.

Yep, thanks for the new information. Always good to hear from you, especially before I lose all my money. Keep up the good work.

>>I'll say it now: Vapor! is in trouble.<< Yeah, Sony will never deliver on that Hi FUD! <g>

>>The clear choice among camera makers is solid state memory, not mechanical<< ..except Sony with their floppy based cameras.

They're proving the concept, now they just need a smaller, higher capacity drive. Hey wait a minute...<g>
