Hi Chuca,
You have a good point. You can not even find a decent tin can these days.Tin is generally placer mined. Sometimes it is placer mined with gold. I do not know if it goes into amalgam or not, but it makes a mess in the fire assay. Cassiterite is a gray mineral that looks like aggregates of metallic balls all merged together. A good tin placer is as good as gold. mike
