Nope.

The DVD guys totally despise the DIVX guys. (VLSI doing something in DIVX.) Some indications that DIVX not well supported by OEMs - but that's likely hogwash. Give me money and I will support.

Market forces will dictate eventual win here.

But loved LSI's proactive moves in China. If they don't come to you, you go to them!!! Best thing about China is that the piracy thing should enable a good supply of discs. (Then again would Hollywood stop making DVDs as a result. Don't believe so. The market here is getting bigger and once again competition and easy money should prompt a few and then eventually all to enter. But stranger things have happened.)

Keeping my fingers crossed that DVD on the PC succeeds. Don't see why not! Eventually it'll crossover even if initial consumer acceptance on the non PC-side is slow.

Latest dream of mine is integration of DVD with everything under the sun - cable Set Top Box, game console, DVD etc. Should make for a doozy of an application and one that LSI could likely build very well.
