Senor Pigboy,

I forgot to state that this Cray exec said that SuperHIPPI (HIPPI 6400) will specifically be used for server clustering. He said something like "SuperHIPPI is the fastest thing going, and Cray is known for building the fastest computers in the world. We'll be using SuperHIPPI for server clustering." I didn't really get a chance to talk to him about storage, although he did have a nice word to say about Ciprico.

Also, maybe I'm wrong in thinking this way, but I consider Cray and SGI to be somewhat distinct entities while recognizing they share many of the same resources. I assume Cray's scalable supercomputers will at times be based on different protocols/architectures than SGI's product lines.
