Wharfie, the good news is that RuZZia is once again throwing away cannon fodder by the thousands, along with tanks and armored vehicles by the dozens, all in a failed attempt to encircle a strategic city.

The bad news is that RuZZia seems to be able to sacrifice that much without much disruption to their own society.

It is estimated that RuZZia was able to recruit another 200K soldiers who "volunteered" to go to Ukraine. This is the result of prison recruitment as well as a general recruitment drive which is primarily targeted at the poorer regions of Siberia and eastern RuZZia.

Hence RuZZia can easily throw another 50K soldiers into the meat grinder while District 1 (a.k.a. Moscow and St. Petersburg) can continue to live "normal" lives.

And PooTin hardly feels anything. He still thinks hE lOsT nOtHiNg.

Obviously Ukraine can't do that. Besides, they want to join the Western world, where life actually has value.
