This looks like significant good news. . .

We are now seeing Thunderbolt -- the $1,000 GPS timing device -- picked up by two major players (Nortel and TruePosition*) in two different applications just months after its introduction. Unless one of you techies can explain otherwise, I suspect that Trimble has won a competition against HP and SYMM and possibly Datum and FEI (with their rubidium technology). It therefore bodes well for future contracts in the CDMA field, not to mention the 911 possibilities in certain areas of the country.

I'm just back from an eight day vacation where I used the Hertz Neverlost product (i.e., the Rockwell to Magellan to Orbi "Pathmaster" GPS car navigation system), and will report in a separate post.

David

*TruePosition, according to the release, is part of a corporate family that includes Teligent.
