Eric,
I wouldn't put too much trust in polls.
In 2012, polls predicted a closer race between Romney and Obama. The actual results showed a relative blowout.

In 2016, polls predicted a Hillary win. Turned out to be an upset by Trump.

In 2020, polls predicted Brandon to win by a comfortable margin. Turned out that Trump came closer than expected.

I personally think the polls consistently underestimate how much support Trump has. I think, if the election were held right now, Trump would win by a substantial margin.

Of course, a lot can happen between now and next November, like Trump getting convicted and being thrown into jail.

But I don't really anticipate any positive surprises that will benefit Brandon. Even now, inflation is nominally at 3-4%, but that's not helping Brandon's poll numbers at all.
